Discover Odda on foot, your bike or canoeing!
Odda can offer charming beauty as well as riveting nature discoveries. But it’s also a vibrant city centre, with a wide variety of shopping as well as cultural attractions. Odda’s contrasts are big and exciting. From the snow paradise of Røldal, the national park and the steep mountains, magnificent waterfalls, green hills, blossoming fruit trees, quiet and serene fjords with the Folgefonna glacier majestically in the background, to the industrial monuments in the Odda centre. They all tell the history of Odda, and how the people in Odda have tamed and exploited the natural resources.
Most of these attractions you can visit on foot, your bike or canoeing.

Odda is a hiker’s paradise. Surrounded by the Hardangervidda national park to the east, Folgefonna national park to the west, Ullensvang and Hardanger to the north and the Odda ‘valley of the waterfalls’ to the south, most people should find something suitable. A quiet walk along the Sandvin lake, or a hike to one of the many incredible vantage points surrounding the Odda valley, or a historic walk up Skjeggedalen in Tyssedal. There is a lot on offer

Bicycle rides
Discover Odda on your bike. Odda can offer many exciting rides. Cycle to Skjeggedal, and discover the Ringedalen valley, and learn about Norwegian water power and our industrial history. Follow the Odda valley and discover the valley of the waterfalls. A landscape shaped by the glacier, a 'jultulhogg' separating Hardangervidda and Folgefonna nationalpark. DiscoverOdda invite you in a waterfall-safari up the Odda valley. Along the way you'll encounter six waterfalls; Strandsfoss, Tjødnadalsfossen, Vidfoss, Hildalsfossen, Espelandsfossen, and finally Låtefoss.
If you want a proper challenge, why not continue on the old route crossing the Røldal mountain and end up in the Røldal village. Or cycle along Sørfjorden and experience the fruit tree blossoming (April-May).
